Concept

In 2024, I created a sub-brand identity for RISING’s festival-within-a-festival, Day Tripper. The brief was deceptively tricky: the look needed to feel distinct yet clearly tied to RISING, while also capturing the event’s wide mix of genres, performances, and experiences. I developed the concept using RISING’s signature blue paired with black and white, and heavily manipulated its secondary typeface alongside original photography. The resulting identity had a fluid, psychedelic spirit, balanced with polish and restraint. From this, I produced a suite of assets including animated social content, street posters, wristbands, maps, merchandise, signage, and motion graphics for the event’s stage screens. The festival sold out in its first year, highlighting the success of the branding in engaging audiences. This year, I was asked to refresh the branding with a stronger lean toward alternative rock aesthetics, and the results were met with great feedback from the creative team and artistic director.
